Border style shrimp with yellow rice (Mexican)

Ingredients

Cooking spray (or just oil)
1 1/2 cups chopped white onion
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 1/2 pounds medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
Lime wedges (optional)

Procedure

Heat a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat. Add onion and sauté for 3 minutes. Add ground cumin, chili powder, shrimp, and garlic and further sauté for 4 minutes. Remove from heat, and add butter, salt, and hot sauce. Stir until the butter melts. Stir in juice and green onions. Garnish with the lime wedges, if desired.

For yellow rice. Just get a yellow rice mix and prepare it accordingly.
